About the training
These units describe the skills and knowledge required to work in confined spaces, issue work permits, work under the authority of an issued permit, or perform safety, standby or supervisor duties for confined spaces. It also covers hazard analysis and gas testing atmospheres for confined spaces. The units applY to those working in operational roles, working alone or as part of a team/work group and working in liaison with other team members, as appropriate. Units of Competence include: • RIIWHS202E Enter and work in confined spaces • MSMPER200 Work in accordance with an issued permit • MSMPER202 Observe permit work • MSMWHS201 Conduct hazard analysis • MSMWHS217 Gas test atmospheres • MSMPER300 Issue work permits
Entry and participation requirements
Reading and writing – a learner will be able to read, comprehend and write a range of texts within a variety of contexts. Oral communication – a learner will be able to use and respond to spoken language including some unfamiliar material within a variety of contexts. Numeracy and mathematics – a learner will be able to recognise and use a variety of conventions and symbolism of formal mathematics. Unique Student Identifier (USI) required. Photo Identification required

As a minimum, participants are required to wear closed in shoes (no singlets will be permitted)
